My name is Cody Weatherly and I am the Grumpy Traveler
I'm not your typical travel photographer. My adventures span the globe, capturing stunning landscapes, vibrant cultures, and the unpredictable, deeply human moments that make every journey unique.
Through my lens, you'll see breathtaking beauty. Behind the scenes, you'll hear tales of wrong turns, spontaneous discoveries, and travel mishaps that leave you laughing. But my work goes deeper than photography—as a shaman and mindfulness coach, I help people reconnect with themselves and the world around them through presence. Whether I'm guiding you through a sunset shoot, a breathwork session on a mountaintop, or a healing journey, I invite you to experience life with intention, curiosity, and joy.
Because the journey isn't just about where you go—it's about how fully you show up when you get there.
I am new and old to the travel life. In my younger days I travelled across the western states with family, and as I went to college I started going out on my own. now its something I love to do.

I entered some of my photos into the 2026 RE- Focus Awards competition, and recieved a nomination!
Thousands of people entered into this competition in 2026, and I am so honored to be nominated.
2nd Place (and Honestly Shocked)
I entered the 2025 Platte River Photography Competition in Douglas, Wyoming, sponsored by The Enterprise of Douglas, WY.
Good news—I placed 2nd in the amateur landscape photography category!
Which makes me move up into another catagory for next year: the professional... where I have to compete with even better photographers to place!
After seeing all those incredible images on the walls, I didn't think I had a chance to even make it. You can see the surprise on my face in the pictures below. My photo will be on display at the Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum in Douglas, Wy for the next year, which is pretty surreal.
Good news as well! I currently do not have any space on my walls for said picture so I am offering it for sale. Please contact me for more information!
My friend Alyssa Meyers also entered the competition. While she didn't place, her work absolutely earned its spot on that wall.

It's Been a Lot of Work
I have been working my rear off on improving my skills through photography, getting better equipment, learning how to improve and design this website to make it more enjoyable for your viewing pleasure.
There have been many long nights and hard decisions of what to put where on these pages and I feel like its coming to completion and I am worn out trying to figure it all out and low on energy between this, photography and having my other job of farming.
